  1. Does anybody know the theme tune that Andy Peebles uses to open and close his Soul Train Show on BFBS during the 80s? Please put me out of my misery - I am looking for this theme tune for years - if you have the answer or even the tune please email me to boernig@gmail.com. Thank you. JP

  2. BACK IN THE LATE SEVENTIES EARLY EIGHTIES ONE OF THE DJ'S ( I THINK IT WAS TOMMY VANCE) PUT A TRACK TOGETHER COMPRISING OF A NUMBER OF TRACKS ONE OF WHICH WAS THE SHANGRI LAHS "LEADER OF THE PACK". IT WAS TELLING THE STORY OF SANTA. THIS TRACK WENT MISSING FROM THE BFBS LIBRARY. COULD ANYONE TELL ME WHAT IT WAS CALLED, I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FIND OUT IT'S NAME OR IF IT WAS EVER REDISCOVERED EVER SINCE?

    1. Hi Andreas,
Thank you for your nice comments. I met Richard Astbury a number of times when he was the Station Manager of BFBS Cologne in the 80s and later in London. He is now retired. Indeed, should anybody have a recording of any BFBS Programme from the 80s and beyond - please contact me. Thank you. JP:)

    1. The Great and the Late Tommy Vance was also my idol and love his voice still these days and through this blog his voice lives on. As present all I have been receiving has been uploaded to this blog - but I am expecting more Chart Shows including Tommy in the near future. If you know of people that have still some treasures in their archives at home - tell them about this blog and we will be more than happy to share with the other fans.

  11. Michael Krafft from Essen, Germany wrote an email to us:

This morning - a long time after sending all my charts to You - I looked again to Your summary of all those BFBS charts.

And what did I see ? Something from a great guy named Marius (also from germany).

    Oh babe ... John Benson´s Top 20 from the 28th Feb 1969 !!!!! YEAH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nearly, I dropped from my chair ... it seemed to me, as if a time-machine had gone back 44 years !

You must know: Exactly THIS charts, my father had cut on tape for me. From some of the songs, I had made a copy to a cassette, for example Cilla Black with "Surround Yourself With Sorrow".
I know this, because the voice (the words) from John Benson are exactly the same as on my tape. Oh, that time, I had been angry, cause he spoke into the sound .. what a bad man :-))))

I didn´t believe to hear that great charts once again in my life, really .....

Best regard, Michael Krafft from Germany
