In search for Uncle Bill (Bigwood) Stories

We have received very recently a request for the Uncle Bill stories that first aired on BFBS during the 60s and lived on on BFBS during the following years. Unfortunately, we have nothing of Uncle Bill in our archives and are wondering if there is a faithful Uncle Bill fan outside there in the BFBS Land that by any chance has recorded the stories when they were broadcast. Alternatively, is there any way to buy these stories on CD or cassette? Fans would be very grateful if you have any information. BFBS Jingles of the early Eighties have been added

Indeed, the BFBS Jingle package of the early 80s has been added to this blog as a Christmas Present to all BFBS Fans worldwide. For this A huge thank you to Neil Bowden making those amazing early BFBS 80s jingles available for us. Oh Man!!!! What a trip down the BFBS Memory Lane listening to these again.This is the era I started to listen to BFBS and I remember those jingles so well together with the great voices coming out of the box talking to us.

Very recently, we received a message via our blog from a fan that discovered with joy the BFBS Radio Archive in this blog. His name is Uli Krekelmann from Germany and a huge fan of BFBS and he tells us that he is in search for the BFBS Saturday Show produced in the late 1960s and early 1970s and was hosted by PMcD (Peter McDonagh). The show was broadcast Saturdays from 1000 - 1200 hours and featured a lot of good music old and new and was spiced with fun element ENGLISH SPEAKING DIETER GRIPP and many nice jingles.

BFBS Malta - Closing Moments - 31 March 1979

We are very much proud and extremely happy to be able to share this special Forces Broadcasting Nugget with you - the closing moments of BFBS Radio in sunny Malta on 25 March 1979. Richard Astbury was the last voice heard on BFBS Malta before it went off air. New Section added: BBC Shows with BFBS DJs

We have added a section at the links on the left side showing BBC Shows to which we will be adding radio programmes that were produced and presented by BFBS DJs that worked on both networks BBC and BFBS Radio e.g. Tommy Vance, Johnny Walker, Andy Peebles, Alan Freeman, etc

Just added an edition of Tommy Vance hosting a special edition of the Friday Rock Show on BBC Radio 1 in November 1990 which was kindly supplied to us by Joe Christie - Thank you Joe.

BFBS Top 40 with Pat Sharp - More shows added

Hello again Chart Lovers,

And again more BFBS Top 40 Shows were added to the blog just now and in particular the period of time when Pat Sharpe (see photo) was the host of the energetic BFBS Top 40 Show from 1989 onwards. We would like to thank Ingo from Germany making his collection available for all of you fans of BFBS.

BFBS Photos added, Tommy Vance, Alan Clough, Richard Astbury, Penny Vine, Rhine Army Summer Show

Dear BFBS Lovers,

I have been digging in my photo album and came across some photos from the mid 80s when I had a chance to visit the BFBS Studios in London, Paddington (Bridge House) where I had the pleasure to sit in the Top 20 Plus Show with Tommy Vance and also BFBS UK. The guests I remember where the Blue Belles which were charting well in the UK Charts with "Young at heart".

Tommy took me and my friends to London in the nearby pub just across the road.

Since I lived in Cologne the BFBS Germany studios were not far away and I would sometimes swing by to sit in some of their shows such as the weekend breakfast show with Alan Clough. And of course one of the highlights during the year was when BFBS Germany was also at the Rhine Army Summer Show.

HELP!!! BFBS Radio in Germany on Sunday afternoon

Dear JP,

I was working in the Bielefeld , Paderbourne area in the summer of 1990.

I listened to BFBS a lot but especially on the weekends in the afternoons. If I remember correctly it is more likely to be a Sunday that I am thinking of.

The shows were comedy. I remember that Hancock's Half Hour was aired amongst the shows. But the show that I am trying to find revolved around a family group. I think that the show before or after the comedy slot had two very funny presenters who were always ribbing eachother.

The show that i am trying to find had characters with 'silly' names and one character in particular had a very squeaky voice. It's over 20 years since I heard this show and I have not been able to find it anywhere else. Its a long shot and I haven't been able to give you a lot to go on . . .  but if you are able to shed any light I would appreciate it.
